                                        Market Summary

Feeder steers were mixed due to quality and flesh condition. Light hiefers were $6-$12 lower with 450-550 lbs steady. Overall trade was steady with thin and hard calves steady. With time getting close to start planting rye grass and the fear of lower numbers some buyers are starting to buy some fall replacements for grass. If your calves and yearlings are haired up best time to sell will be late September-October when it starts to cool off. They are presently going into an above normal heat zone so most buyers are shying away from haired up calves. Slaughter cows lower $1-$4 with bulls steady. Stocker cows were good with demand strong. Lots of interest in turnout young replacements to upgrade and add to their herds.
